1 Saturn

Values shaped by the other/s

ingrained by the institution/s

then disputed by experience/s

How do I resolve this dilemma?

Choose a black and a white.

Believe one and reject the other.

Inevitably, someone shows up

who believes the opposite of me.

But only one can be right. Right?

Choose not to choose.

Right to life, right to die,

Capitalism or communism,

Jehovah or Buddha or Allah,

(or yadda yadda yadda or nada)

All equally winnable arguments.

ALLso meaningless arguments.

Bias transmuted to spectrums,

vision shifts to taste the rainbow

of infinite divergent perspectives.

Choice seems to matter less and less

the longer I choose not to choose...

but values slowly drained away.

Spectrum now a turbid quagmire,

vision recoils and retreats inward

to escape the world Out There.

It’s pretty, but it’s lonely.

How do I get back out?

Eventually I realized

I don’t have to choose.

I don’t have to take a side.

There’s nothing to figure out,

no magic answers to be found.

Only questions to be discovered.
