Aye, I Captain

By Samuel D. Bowen

What is the I that is watching?

Tis eye, soul!

Tis I, whole!

Aye that is what . . .

I-what is that?

The sky and not the clouds!

(The thoughts are merely shrouds)

Divine spark unchanging,

While all else rearranging . . .

Experiencer all,

Discovered by the fall,

Responding to the call . . .

The seer of the scene that’s seen,

And as a new-found yogi being,

Light that lights the world,

The pathway now unfurled,

Abyss and vacuum, void . . .

The spark can never be destroyed . . .
